Skin & fat +/- muscle are transferred as a composite flap to recreate the breast mound and shape. Often times nipple reconstruction can be performed during the same settings. A perforator flap is an even more elegant type of reconstruction in which no muscle is taken, but only separated to help transfer your body's tissue to the chest.
