Board-certified cosmetic surgeons have the surgical training and experience to perform complex surgery on you. Dr. Desai scored in the 99th percentile on the American Board of Plastic Surgery exam and has many years of training.
You should also speak to other patients of the cosmetic surgeon, look at before and after photos of the cosmetic surgery you are interested in, and ask the cosmetic surgeon all the questions you can. Any good cosmetic surgeon will give you the names of patients you may speak with, voluntarily show you before and after photos, and answer every question you have fully. You want to be comfortable with your cosmetic surgeon and develop a rapport during your initial consultation with them.
What are some of the risks of cosmetic surgery?
As with any surgery, there will be a small amount of risk. These are very rare and you should not keep them from helping you feel good about your appearance through cosmetic surgery. Still, you should consider them before you make a decision.
