Candidacy for Belt Lipectomy

Men and women who wish to improve the tone and contour of their abdomen and back after significant weight loss are excellent candidates for belt lipectomy. Post-bariatric surgery / gastric bypass patients typically experience dramatic cosmetic improvement after this procedure.

Recovering After Your Belt Lipectomy Body Contouring Surgery

Our body contouring team is trained to facilitate a rapid recovery for our belt lipectomy patients. Nutrition and hydration are an important part of the body’s healing process and patients will be provided with post-operative guidelines during the consultation process. Patients are also encouraged to wear compression garments for the first few weeks.

As the incision begins to heal, you can minimize the size and appearance of the scar by massaging the scar with firm finger pressure. This exercise will also help decrease swelling around the incision. Paper tape and silicone gel sheeting have also been shown to help minimize scars over time. Our patients have also used commercially available products such as Mederma or vitamin E to optimize healing.
