A facelift is a surgical procedure to restore a more youthful look by tightening, smoothing out loose skin, and/or add volume to areas of the face that may have lost volume with age. A face lift is often combined with other procedures such as a neck lift, brow lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), facial fat grafting, and/or microneedling to enhance the overall skin tone and texture.

There are several different types, or techniques, that may be performed for a facelift. Many of the “lunch hour” or “mini-face lift” procedures do not produce the lasting results most patient desire and are not ideal for the majority of patients seeking a surgical option.

A full face lift will require an incision along the hairline and behind the ear, which is hidden and typically heals very well, allowing for an optimal lift and reduction of sagging skin without the “wind swept” look. Certain facial muscles are tightened to re-establish the tautness appearance of our youth. As with any procedure or surgery, gravity and the standard process of aging will continue. However, a face lift will reset the clock and give you a youthful look you aspire to have.
