QWO® Cellulite Reduction Treatment

Our team here at Florida Plastic Surgery Group is excited to offer one of the most revolutionary non-surgical treatments available for a very common concern: signs of cellulite on the buttocks. Cellulite affects most women at some point in their lives, and it can be particularly frustrating given that it often results from factors such as heredity and others that are out of our control. Fortunately, an injectable treatment called QWO® offers patients a way to effectively reduce the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks without the need for surgery or other invasive procedures.

What Is QWO®?

QWO® is the first injectable solution approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat adult women experiencing moderate to severe signs of cellulite in the buttocks. The telltale “dimples” or “craters” caused by cellulite often manifest in the buttock regions, leading to noticeable changes in the aesthetics of the skin in these areas. QWO® utilizes an injectable solution that includes enzymes called collagenases. When injected into the treatment areas, these enzymes are believed to minimize the appearance of cellulite by releasing the fibrous bands that are pulling the skin down, distributing fat cells to different locations, and producing new collagen growth. The QWO® procedure involves a series of three injectable treatments spaced several weeks apart in order to create the best possible results.

QWO® is one of many non-surgical cosmetic injectables available at our practice that can help patients renew their appearance without surgery or long recovery times. If this treatment is ideal for your needs, we will be happy to develop a customized treatment plan designed to help you achieve your goals.

What Causes Cellulite?

The most common signs of cellulite are often caused by fibrous bands that connect upper skin layers to underlying muscles. When these bands pull the skin down through layers of fat toward the muscles, they can create a localized depression on the surface, leading to a noticeable “dimple” that is characteristic of cellulite. While this condition does affect a relatively small percentage of men, it is much more common among women due to genetic differences and distinctions between the way in which body fat is distributed among genders.

What Is Involved in the QWO® Treatment Process?

The QWO® treatment can be performed as an in-office procedure and does not require anesthesia. In fact, most patients will not even need a recovery period after this procedure. During treatment, the QWO® solution will be delicately injected into the tissues of the buttocks exhibiting signs of cellulite. The treatment usually only takes about 10 minutes to complete.

An additional round of injections will be scheduled about three weeks after the first. The third round will be scheduled three weeks following the second, and these last injections will complete the series.

While some degree of swelling, redness, bruising, and irritation around the injection sites can be expected after treatment, these effects should fade relatively quickly and most patients are able to resume their normal daily activities immediately.

What Can I Expect from the Results of QWO® Injections?

The results of QWO® treatment may take up to 10 weeks to prominently appear; however, some individuals may begin to see the initial effects before that. It is important to note that QWO® treatment may not make cellulite completely disappear; however, it can dramatically reduce signs of cellulite and give the skin a smoother look and feel.

How Much Does QWO® Cellulite Treatment Cost?

The cost of QWO® cellulite treatment typically starts at approximately $2,300 for a full package of three treatments spaced 21 days apart. The total price is often variable among patients depending on unique factors associated with the customized treatment plan. Once your concerns have been evaluated during the initial consultation and your treatment plan is developed, a member of our team can calculate the total cost estimate, including all expenses relating to the procedure, and answer any questions you may have. Florida Plastic Surgery Group accepts a wide range of payment methods, including financing options available from reputable agencies that offer qualified applicants an array of convenient payment plans.
