Fat Injection Rejuvenation

The technique of fat grafting has significantly enhanced the results our plastic surgeons at Florida Plastic Surgery Group can achieve with a number of various procedures. Fat grafting is minimally invasive technique used for facial rejuvenation, breast reconstruction, and soft-tissue voids. Autologous fat grafting is performed by carefully harvesting the fat with liposuction from your abdomen, hips, thighs, or buttocks – an added benefit for most patients who undergo this procedure. The fat is then delicately processed to remove everything except your own body’s fat cells. Afterward, the concentrated fat is injected with small needles, eliminating the need for any incision. Some overcorrection may be required, as not all of the fat injected will survive. In addition, a second or third stage of fat grafting may be required. Autologous fat grafting can be used for the following:

Our cosmetic surgery team will help you decide which application best suits your needs. At the Florida Plastic Surgery Group, we believe our patients, their desires, and their anatomy are all unique. Therefore, our doctors evaluate each patient and create a customized surgical plan for every patient.

Facial Rejuvenation w/ Fat Grafting

As we age, our facial soft tissues deflate and descend, creating a hollow appearance around the eyes and cheeks. By restoring volume to these areas, autologous fat grafting can recreate a full and youthful appearance. Fat grafting facial rejuvenation is performed by injected your body’s own fat into the cheeks, wrinkles around the mouth, and any sagging areas around your jaw to give you a natural and refreshed look without any incisions. The recovery time is much shorter than many other facial rejuvenation techniques.

Soft-Tissue Filler

Fat grafting can also be used to help fill in and blunt wrinkles around the neck, cheeks, forehead, and face. Fat has been especially useful in blunting the nasolabial fold (line around the check) and furrows around the brow.

Contour Irregularities After Liposuction

Occasionally, after body contouring procedures and liposuction, patients may develop contour irregularities. These contour irregularities can be corrected with the injection of fat without the need for incisions. Some overcorrection is required, as not all of the fat injected survives, and a second or third stage of fat grafting may be needed depending upon individual circumstances.

Fat Grafting Breast Reconstruction

Fat grafting has significantly enhanced our ability to create more natural look and feel to reconstructed breasts. Fat grafting fills the hollows above the breast to create a fuller, softer, and more natural appearance to the superior pole of reconstructed breasts. In addition, fat grafting can also fill the voids in the middle to create more cleavage and medial fullness.
